"High stakes, high returns and a low-carbon economy" Wednesday 18 February 2009
We must sustain the momentum towards a low carbon economy, resisting calls for delay. Britain is working with other governments to strengthen globalisation, not weaken it. Effective emissions trading schemes give industry what it needs to succeed in tough economic times - greater certainty. Investment in low carbon technology will provide the very jobs we need to revitalise our economies and mitigate climate change at the same time.
